Frequently Asked Questions
What is schedule.construction?
A critical path method (CPM) scheduling tool for construction that runs in the browser. It has an interactive Gantt, imports and exports Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project files, and includes lookaheads, pull planning, weekly work plans, baselines, and read-only share links for owners. It's built for general contractors, specialty contractors, and owners' reps who update schedules every week.
How much does it cost?
$50 per company per month, plus $10 per project manager seat and $5 per superintendent seat. View-only seats are free, and guests on share links don't need a seat. See Plans, pricing, and seat types.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day trial with full access, and no card is needed to start. There's also a read-only sandbox you can explore without signing up for a trial.
Can I import Primavera P6 schedules?
Yes. Import .xer files from P6 and export back to XER or PMXML. See Import a Primavera P6 .xer file.
Can I import Microsoft Project .mpp files?
Save the file as XML from Microsoft Project (File → Save As → XML Format) and import that. Native .mpp import isn't available yet. See Import from Microsoft Project.
Does the owner need an account to see the schedule?
No. Send a read-only share link. They can view the live Gantt and lookahead and print PDFs without logging in.
Can subcontractors update their own progress?
Yes. Give them the Trade Updater role and grant them their activities. They can update percent complete, remaining duration, and dates on those activities only. See Let subcontractors update their own activities.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The Field view is designed for phones, and changes made without a signal sync when you reconnect. See Update progress from the field.
Does it do resource loading and earned value?
Yes: resources, histograms, resource leveling, and earned value with SPI, CPI, and an S-curve. See Resources and leveling and Earned value.
Does it check schedule quality?
Yes. Validation runs the DCMA 14-point checks and lists open ends, negative float, leads, and other problems, with one-click fixes for many. See Check schedule quality.
What happens to my schedules if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. Your company becomes read-only: everyone can still view and export every schedule, and share links keep working. See What happens when a trial ends or a payment fails.
Is my data secure?
Each company's data is isolated at both the application and database level, all traffic is encrypted, and payments are handled by Stripe. See Security, privacy, and your data.
Is there an API?
Yes, at no extra cost. Owners and Editors can create API tokens to read schedules and post progress. See API tokens and the customer API.
