Update Progress from the Field on Your Phone
The Field view is built for a phone in the field: big buttons, today's work first, and it keeps working when the signal drops.
Open it
Open the project in your phone's browser and tap Field. To get an app icon on your home screen, use your browser's Add to Home Screen (Safari) or Install app (Chrome) option.
What you see
My work today is on by default. It shows activities in progress, or scheduled for today, that you can update. Turn it off to see everything assigned to you.
Trade Updaters see only the activities they've been granted. See Let subcontractors update their own activities.
Update an activity
- Tap a percent chip: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.
- Start today records the actual start.
- Finish today marks it 100% complete with nothing remaining.
- Remaining with − and + adjusts the days left.
- Plan start and Plan finish reschedule work that hasn't started.
Report a blocker
Type in Blocker note (material late, no access, weather…) and tap Post. It's posted as a comment on the activity, marked as a blocker, so the scheduler and PM are notified.
No signal?
Updates are saved on your phone ("Saved offline — will sync when back online") and sent when you reconnect. Tap Sync now to send them right away. Blocker notes need a connection.
If someone changed the same activity while you were offline, you'll be asked to open the Schedule tab to choose which version to keep. See Working offline and sync conflicts.
After field updates
Field updates change the live schedule and CPM recalculates. The scheduler still runs a formal update with a data date before issuing the schedule. See Record progress and update the schedule.
