Track Long-Lead Procurement and Risks
Long-lead items
Switchgear, elevators, curtain wall, and rooftop units routinely drive the critical path. The Long-lead panel ties each delivery to the work that waits on it.
Project tools ▾ → Long-lead. To add an item:
- Activity name, for example "Switchgear delivery"
- Vendor
- Promised: the vendor's promised delivery date (required)
- Lead days: the procurement duration, 20 by default
- Drives (FS): the install activity that can't start until delivery
Click Add long-lead. The delivery activity gets a start-no-earlier-than constraint from the promised date, so when the vendor pushes the date, you update it here and the install and everything after it move.
The table lets you edit vendor, promised date, and lead time inline. Display ▾ → Long-lead only filters the Gantt to procurement items.
Validation warns when a procurement item has no successor, or when a delivery is overdue. See Check schedule quality.
Risk register
Project tools ▾ → RAID keeps a list of project risks. Enter a Risk title, optionally link it to an activity, and click Add.
You can also create a risk from an activity comment with the Create RAID action. The first line of the comment becomes the title. See Comment on activities.
