Work Calendars, Holidays, and Weather Days
Durations and float are counted in working days, so the calendar decides where every bar lands. Your organization starts with a default calendar. You can add project calendars for six-day weeks, night shifts, or local holidays.

Project tools ▾ → Calendars opens the Work calendars panel.
Create or edit a calendar
Fill in the form:
- Name
- Hours / day. The default is 8.
- Timezone
- Workdays. Tick the days worked. The default is Monday to Friday.
- Shifts (HH:MM). Working periods for each day. The default is 08:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00. Use + period to add another.
- Holidays. Dates in
YYYY-MM-DDformat, separated by commas. - Extra workdays (make-up days). Normally non-working dates you'll work anyway, like a Saturday to recover time.
Click Create or Update. Project calendars can be deleted. Company-wide calendars can only be edited.
Choose the project's calendar
At the top of the panel, set Project default to Org default or any calendar. Every activity uses it unless overridden.
Give an activity its own calendar
Show the Cal column and pick a calendar on that row. Project means it follows the project default. Common uses: a 7-day calendar for concrete curing, or a weekend calendar for shutdown work.
Weather days
If you enter a site Latitude and Longitude on the project's Overview tab, a weather strip appears above the schedule with the coming days' forecast: rainfall in mm, wind gusts, and crane-risk days.
- Wet days (5 mm or more, or rain or thunderstorms) and crane-risk days (gusts around 25 mph or more) are preselected. Click a day to toggle it.
- Apply to calendar marks the selected days as non-working on the project calendar and recalculates, showing the effect on the finish date.
- Apply alert window does the same for the dates of an active weather alert.
- Revert weather days removes only the days added from weather, leaving your holidays alone.
Weather days are tagged separately, which makes them easy to find when you document weather delays later. The blog has more on schedule calendars and weather days.
